New Update - Alex Reservations

2023-05-30

Hello

Welcome to the latest exciting update of the Alex Reservations plugin! Let's dive straight in!

Custom fields

To enhance the reservation form and capture additional data, you have the flexibility to create custom fields that suit your specific needs. Here are some options for custom fields that you can consider implementing:

Text field: This field allows customers to enter short text responses. It's useful for capturing information such as special requests, dietary restrictions, or specific preferences.

Textarea field: A larger text field where customers can provide more detailed information or comments. This can be helpful for gathering additional instructions or feedback.

Checkbox field: With a checkbox field, customers can select or deselect a single option. This works well for capturing binary choices like opting for a particular seating area or indicating specific dietary preferences.

Select field: This field presents customers with a dropdown menu containing multiple options, but they can only choose one. It's ideal for situations where you want customers to select a single choice, such as seating preferences.

Options field: An options field offers a list of checkboxes, allowing customers to select multiple options. This type of field is suitable when you want to capture multiple choices simultaneously, such as dietary restrictions (e.g., vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.) or add-on services.

You can also use the small arrows on the left to adjust the position of each field within the form.

New status for Shifts & Events

Previously, when defining a Shift/Event, you had the choice to set online reservations as either Pending or Confirmed. However, we have now introduced a new option. You can choose to set the reservation as Confirmed for up to X seats. Once the maximum number of seats is reached, all subsequent reservations will be marked as Pending. This gives you the opportunity to review your current reservations before accepting any new ones.

Additional features

- A new column has been introduced in the list view, allowing you to display the values from the custom fields alongside other relevant information.

- We have added a new tag to the email templates, enabling you to embed the custom fields values directly from the reservation form into your email communications with customers.

- The custom fields values are now visible in the booking view for customers, providing them with a comprehensive overview of their reservation details.

- In the CSV export bookings functionality, we have included two new columns: one for displaying the time in a 12-hour format, and another column specifically dedicated to showcasing the values of the custom fields

I'd love to hear any feedback you have about things that could work differently or improvements that could be made.

Cheers

- Alejandro
