Save Cards for Online Payments

2023-10-31

Hello

We've implemented a feature allowing you to securely store credit card details during reservations without initially charging your customers. If they fail to show up, you can opt to charge them manually at a later time.

1. Setting Up Your System to Accept Card Details

Once Stripe is set up, you can utilize it to process payments at the time of reservation or simply to save the credit card information in Stripe. This data can then be used later to charge the customer in case they don't honor their reservation. Ensure your shift or event settings are configured to accept credit card transactions.

1. Reservation Process

On the user side, customers will encounter a popup window prompting them to enter their payment details. From the backend, you'll see a cyan-colored tag indicating that the card details have been stored successfully. If a user doesn't finalize their reservation, a red tag will be displayed. For these instances, you can manually send them an email, including a view link, urging them to complete their reservation.

3. Processing Payments Later

To charge the customer using the stored card details, simply open the relevant popup and click the charge button. If the transaction is successful, the tag color will change to green, indicating that the payment has been processed.

Currently, this feature is exclusive to those utilizing Stripe as their payment gateway. However, we're working to expand this functionality to other payment gateways in the near future. Stay tuned for updates!
